I just e filed my return but never saw option to pay my taxes, will it be rejected?

No, your tax return(s) won't be rejected because you did not pay the taxes due. As a matter of fact, the IRS wants you to file your tax return even if you can't pay the taxes you owe to avoid late filing or non-filing penalties.

 

Try to pay before the IRS deadline, which has been extended to May 17, 2021.

 

Per IRS: In general, you may owe an IRS underpayment penalty, for 2020, if the total of your withholding and timely estimated tax payments didn't equal at least the smaller of:

  1. 90% of your 2020 tax, or
  2. 100% of your 2019 tax. Your 2019 tax return must cover a 12-month period.
