I entered my income and at the end was told that I can't e-file because line 7b, 8b, 12a, 12b, 13b, 16, and 19 were all 0. Why? I entered my information.

I work for a Chinese employer in China, so I only have a statement about my income, not a W-2.

Then all of your foreign earned income has been excluded from taxation, meaning you have no taxable income entered on your federal tax return. A tax return with no taxable income entered cannot be e-filed but must be printed and mailed.

However, you can add $1 of interest income so that you can e-file.

Enter interest income in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to interest income

In the box Received from: enter any name. In Box 1 enter $1
