I feel scammed by Turbotax

I used Turbotax again this year as it was FREE especially since I know I will get refunds being close to or under the required income to file. Got almost all the way through and was REQUIRED to update to Deluxe (?) as I had $0.76 in foreign tax on one ETF I hold. $0.76!! And this cost me more than $82.

By that time totally invested in the returns. As TT figures, too tired to research other free filing or start again.

I feel totally scammed. Not at all happy.

The irony is, once you've done your return,

it only takes a few minutes to do it again on another tax service, since you know exactly what to do.

to find truly free filing. Note that some include free state as well; that's important.
Otherwise, If you have to file a state return, and don't want to do that yourself, you will need software that you pay for.
