I filed 2022 tax return yesterday. Fed was accepted, state rejected. When i logged back in to fix the state error which wasnt picked up by turbo tax the prior day, my federal return almost doubled, but the fed already accepted my return. How do I refile the federal? There is no button to amend the return and when I download my return from turbotax it has the updated amounts as if that is what was filed for federal, when it wasnt. I never even changed anything in the federal section of my return to cause an increase. So what do I do to get that additional return?

First, you should not amend until the tax return has been processed.  Meaning you have received your refund.  When that happens and if you need to amend your return, follow these steps.  You can amend for Free using TurboTax.

Do not amend until original has fully processed.
