I filed a single return on my TurboTax account. Can my ex-wife file a single return on the same TurboTax account? We recently divorced.

We have always filed jointly under her email address but I was listed first so my return was processed first. Now it will not allow her to file another return with her information.

When you use Online TurboTax, you get one return per fee. Each return needs its own account and user ID. If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, you overwrite the first one and lose it forever.

No, not on TurboTax Online - those accounts are good for one return each. Your ex needs to create a new account with a separate username and password.

No. using your account to do her return will completely eliminate your return. only hers will remain in your account. She needs her own account with her own user id and password. in online it's one taxpayer (a joint return is one taxpayer) per account.

@mogan5900 If you used the TT Desktop version though you can file up to 5 e-files per user account. You can also download the software on up to 5 machines.
Desktop downloads is the best way for a family to save.
