Question

I filed and did not receive my refund yet. Then, I amended today, now says I owe a smaller amount. Do I owe now overall, or is that money coming from the refund?

I can't see how removing one child would change it by over 9k when there is still other child on the return, Thank you

    Your amended return starts at zero. 

    • It prepares the amendment expecting that you paid anything you owe, or that you already got your refund.
    • The amount calculated on the amended return is the amount you would repay after the refund.
