Question

I filed extension and trying to file now. I paid $44.99 for additional state and completed return. When I tried to eFile, it asked another $24.99, fine but, got problem

Before filing it offered Audit Defense, I didn't accept it as my risk is almost zero however, when I tried to file, it is asking $44.99 (cost of audit defense). I couldn't get around this problem. Why should I be forced to buy audit defense?

Hi - You may have accidentally checked box for audit defense. In any case, if you call TurboTax, I'm sure they'll refund amount

Are you using the Desktop program? Are you in California? If you select to have the state efile fee deducted from your federal refund it adds on Audit Defense. Change to pay by credit card. Go back through the File tab and watch the screens closely and slowly. There is one that is easy to click on the wrong button to continue.
