The TurboTax FAQ I'm linking below will give you full instructions.  (I love the Desktop (CD/Download) platform)!!

How do I switch from TurboTax Online to the TurboTax software?

I have the same issue. Unfortunately, the suggestion in the link does not seem to work; I don't see anywhere on my 2018 form to save the tax file.

Conversely, I have my 2018 PDF, but I don't see anywhere on the 2019 CD version to import it.

@rscottwilcox I'd suggest beginning a 2019 return using TurboTax Online, making sure you're using the EXACT account you used in 2018.  Doing that will transfer your 2018 pertinent info into the 2019 program.

From that point, you should be able to successfully follow the instructions I shared in my initial response.  Please post back if you continue to have difficulty.
