I filed my fed taxes with turbo tax on my other PC (Windows). I want to be able to transfer it to my new PC (Windows 11). How can I do this? Thank you.?

the program will need to be reinstalled and updated on the new PC.  the tax file xxxx.tax2021 is normally located in the c:\users\"user name"\ documnents\turbotax folder.  copy it to the same folder on the new computer. I also suggest saving a copy to an offline location like a thumb drive.  i save both a copy of the xxxx.tax2021 file and the full PDF version. computers do crash and Turbotax does not have copies of returns prepared with desktop software.  also after 3 years Turbotax no longer supports the app so if you need to reinstall it, updates and any state returns will not be available.
