I filed online. I owe NC state $226. I go to pay and it’s asking for an invoice number. I don’t have one. Haven’t received any mail on it. It’s been > month. Help.

You chose the wrong payment entry point on the NC website: The starting entry page looks exactly the same, but the URL is a bit different...go here:

Then click on the "Pay Original Tax Due" button on the rt-side:
