I forgot a 1099-R for $5202.36. When I entered it, the amount changed from getting back $1234 to owing 1533. Why the big difference??

(1)  An increase in income can cause more of your Social Security benefits to be taxable.

(2)  Similarly, some deductions (such as Medical) and credits can change.
