Question

I got divorced in November, prior to that my withholding was at the married rate, will this change my tax amount owed?

Maybe.  Withholding at the married rate will take less tax out of your paychecks so you might owe more on your tax return.    Have you given your employer a new W4 for Single?

Yes my status was changed in November, but I owe more now than I ever have, just wondering if the withholding rate is taken into consideration when taxes are figured for the entire year.

Well the actual "rate" doesn't affect it.  You just had less withholding taken out as married.  So you owe more as Single now.
