Solved

I got married in 2022 and will be filing jointly for 2022 but we need to file extensions. Do we file extensions as individuals or as a married couple?

We previously filed as individuals through 2021.

If you plan to file jointly, you file your extension jointly.  If you plan to file as married filing separately, you would file separate extension.  (MFS is almost always the worst way to file your tax returns.  Joint filing almost always results in lower taxes or a larger refund, because many deductions and credits are reduced or disallowed when filing separately.)

Since you were married on Dec 31, 2022 you would file as jointly for 2022.

Thank you very much. That's what I needed to understand.

You file the extension as a married couple; same as you intend to file.
