Can I deduct federal taxes paid on my federal tax return?

With the exception of estimated federal taxes, you're not allowed to claim a deduction or credit for any taxes, penalties, or interest you paid to the IRS.

If your States allows it, you will be asked for the information when you go through your State interview.
