I had to pay for free services when I filled, and not only am I not sure why, but its still a pending payment,rendering my refund unable to be deposited into my account.

If your payment did not go through, then you would need to complete your payment and submit your e-file to the IRS. Please see these instructions, if you need to complete and submit your return: How do I e-file my personal (individual) tax return?

If your E-file status  is showing pending, pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet. 

Once your return has been accepted by the IRS, to track your federal refund, visit the IRS Where's My Refund site for the most up to date information.
