Question

I had unemployment last year and I owed money. Recently things were updated and its showing I am getting back on one part of the website. Any idea when I get my refund?

The front page still shows what I originally owed before the unemployment thing kicked in.  But when I go to amend my return I get a whole different set of numbers.

You generally do not need to amend for Federal.

However, taxpayers would have to file an amended return if they did not originally claim the EITC or other credits, but now are eligible because the [unemployment comp] exclusion changed their income.  These taxpayers may want to review their state tax returns as well.
