Question

I have 1099misc income box 1 for my horse rented for me to ride at my job. How do I report expenses against this income for care and transport of horse to work?

I work as mounted security patrol and ride my horse on the job. My employer pays me horse pay and reports in box 1 of 1099 MISC. I need to figure out how to put my expenses against this income...ie feed, shoes, vet, saddle, tack, hay, truck, trailer, gas, since I transport and care for this horse at my home

Your question is very common - sorry for the confusion.

Information from your Form 1099-MISC should be entered as Self-Employment on a Sch C, subject self-employment tax and all the expenses you mentioned can be entered to reduce the taxable amount.

I hope this helped you. Thank you for using Turbo Tax.
