All gambling income (and losses) are entered in the same place of the federal section in TurboTax.   When you enter your forms, TurboTax will ask for the W-2G information first.   Then we will ask about other gambling income NOT on a W-2G.   And then, after all your gambling income is entered, TurboTax will ask about your losses.    If you itemize, you can deduct your losses up to the amount of your winnings.

You can enter totals for the 3 categories on the federal return.   However, if you have gambling winnings in multiple states you will to have totals for each state.   Gambling income is taxable in the state you won it in.   Your resident state (if applicable) will tax all of your income and usually offers a credit if another state also taxes the income.   Each state has its own rules and filing requirements.

See this article about gambling loss deductions for more information.    Start by entering your W-2gs - Here's where you enter Form W-2G (Certain Gambling Winnings) in TurboTax:

    1. Open or continue your return.
    2. Locate the W-2G section:
      • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to W-2G.
      • TurboTax Desktop: Search for W2G (don't include any hyphens) and select the Jump to link.
    3. Answer Yes on the Did you win money or other prizes in 2024? screen and follow the instructions to enter your W-2G.
    4. Then enter the rest of your winnings (not on a W-2g)
    5. Enter your losses
