I have a 1099 for unemployment with taxes withheld. I entered the amount of unemployment. Where do I enter taxes withheld?

There is a box that must be checked on the screen that asks, "What's the total amount you received on your 1099-G" that asks if you had state or federal taxes withheld from this payment. When you click to check that box, and then continue to the next screen you will be able to enter taxes withheld.  I will attach a screenshot below so that you can more easily locate it.

To get back to the Unemployment/1099-G portion of your return, you will log into your account on TurboTax Online, or open your TurboTax Desktop program. Then, follow the steps listed below to enter the information:

  • Go to Federal Taxes
  • Go to Wages & Income.
  • On the Wages & Income page, look for Unemployment
  • Next to Unemployment click Show More
  • Choose to Edit and on the next screen choose to edit the 1099-G information that you have already started
