I have a 2018 tax return that I was working and my system crashed - I have a copy that I emailed to myself. I'm told I need an "executable" file or version. Help?

Really need to get this done before the deluge of returns for 2019 hits the IRS proper.

only software specific to 2018 can prepare a 2018 tax return.

If you don't have that, you'll have to purchase and install.

you can't e-File a 2018 tax return any more so your mailing will just add to the deluge.
