I have a dependent that is filing taxes this year, my question is who files first, myself or them? Or does it matter?

No, who files first doesn't matter. The important thing is that your dependent indicates they are a dependent on someone else's return.

The question comes up in the My info section on the page titled, Your personal info.

Your dependent should answer yes to. Another taxpayer can claim me as a dependent on their tax return and And this person will claim me on their 2023 tax return.

It does not matter.  However, make sure that your dependent has indicated on their tax return that they can be claimed as a dependent.  If they do not and they file first, your e-filed return will be rejected and you will have to print and mail your tax return.  So verifying they indicated their dependency is a very important.
