Question

I have an IP PIN that IRS mailed to me. My e-file is rejecting because of the PIN.

It states to make 5 digit unique number, but not all 0's. My IP Pin is 6 digits. Is the PIN and the IP PIN two different PIN's? Help I owe money and this PIN is holding me up.

When I finished my taxes (just minutes ago), I went to "File a Return" and early in the process TurboTax assigned a PIN for me and another for my wife. I had to identify ourselves with information from our driver's licenses.

I just had this issue and called into the TT HELP LINE. - you need to enter the 6 digit ip pin at another area. FIRST TURN OFF YOUR FIREWALL

Then go to the federal taxes tab, then other tax stiuations, then down to other return info, then the identity protecion pin line, then click on the start/update button - you then follow the insructions to enter the 6 digit ip pin.

IF YOU DON'T TURN OFF YOUR FIREWALL FIRST YOU WILL GET AN ERROR MESSAGE.
