Question

I have deluxe from when I filed in 2017. It says I can’t download my pdf because I never paid for it.. I don’t have a computer to access so I’m using my iPad and phone.

Why do I need to “upgrade” to get my return when I already have it? I’m not a business owner so I’m not paying for the software

If you used the TurboTax online editions for the 2017 tax return and paid for either the Plus, Deluxe, Premier or Self-Employed edition then you have access to the 2017 tax return and any other prior online tax returns up through October 2019.  Provided you are signing onto the online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the prior year online accounts.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the 2017 TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions then the tax returns will only be on the computer where the returns were created.  TurboTax does not store any desktop tax returns online.

I have the 2017 CD.  How do I reload it o my computer?

You load it the same way you did the first time ... put the CD in the drive and follow the screen instructions.  Once the program installation files have been installed then you will need to update the program and then  start a fake return to install any state programming required to open the 2017 tax file you have.
