Question

I have two copies of my 2017 return on file. One has a ~in front of it. What does this mean? Which copy do I transfer over?

First, make sure that your desktop software is updated.  See the instructions in the TurboTax FAQ below for instructions.

That little mark is called a "tilde", and it just represents a file you saved at some point in tax prep, but is not the "accepted" e-filed return.  The other file should represent the complete and accepted 2017 return.  Please post back in the comments here if you have other questions.
