Question

I have two different wages in box 18 and 19. But it won’t let me continue filing my taxes because if it. Prompt says they are duplicates. Help!

I go to revise and it shows both the wages. 1 line for each wage.

You should have two different numbers in box 18 and 19. Box 18 are your local wages.  Box 19 is your local taxes withheld.  

 

If you have 2 numbers in each box, did you work in more than one locality?  If so, then you will need to click add a locality and then enter your wages and taxes withheld for each locality on separate lines. 

 

If neither of the above resolves the problem, you can delete your W2 and then manually re-enter it.  You can do this by clicking:

  • Tax Tools
  • Tools
  • Delete a Form
  • Look for the W2 and click delete next to it
