Question

I just e-filed for my first time and need to mail in my federal payment, do I just need to mail the check or do I need to send in all of my documents?

Not all the documents...just the check along with the 1040V payment voucher.

 

But first...wait until your tax return ahs been fully accepted (not just transmitted). 

 

Why?  Because if it is rejected, you might end up changing/correcting something that caused the rejection...and also changed your balance due.

 

Come back into your account after a few days to make sure it was accepted.   TTX sends out emails about progress...but sometimes those emails end up in spam folders (or elsewhere if you enter your email address wrong)
