Solved

I just installed Turbotax Premier 2024. When I go to open it, it says I have to do a restart. If I restart the computer, I still get the same message. Now what?

I have also run System File Checker and all my system files are good. I've tried restarting Turbotax 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 and they all start normally. This is a problem with Turbotax 2024 Premier. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and same result. How do I get this fixed since it's unusable as is?

Several others have reported the same.....and fixed it.

Appears to be a problem with the proper version of Visual C++ not being present on your computer.

I had same issue on windows 11 turbotax 24 not being launched

    giving an Error.

Installed current version of Visual c++ x64 and x86

    it fixed the issue

THIS!!!!  Downloading both was the key to getting past the generic "Error" screen on a fully updated  Windows 11 PC.
