I am sorry to hear that.  The requirement of 2018 Adjusted Gross Income AGI is a requirement by the IRS, unfortunately.   It doesn't matter which company you go to, as long as you want to e-file, that is the requirement.  To e-file your 2019 taxes, the IRS uses your 2018 AGI to verify your identity and you only need this if you are e-filing your tax return to the IRS.

Please see the information below:

To locate Gross Income AGI from last year, please follow these instructions:

If you have filed your last year 2018 tax return and have a copy of the tax forms, you may locate the amounts on line 7 on your 2018 Form 1040 or line 35 on 2018 Form 1040-NR if applies to you.

If you used TurboTax online to file, you can access your account here Login and download a copy of your prior year’s 1040 tax return to find your AGI.  Click here for instructions: Prior year's return

If you do not have a copy of the tax forms, you may order a transcript from the IRS.  Click here Get  Transcript and select  "Get Transcript Online "  On the transcript, look under section "Adjustment to Income" and find the amount for Adjusted Gross Income.

Not a helpful answer. I used the AGI from my taxes prepared by Turbo Tax and using e-file for the first time due to the "easiest" way to file statement from Turbo Tax. And yet my return is getting rejected. Very disappointed in Turbo Tax.

Once a TurboTax account is created, it cannot be deleted. However, you can simply abandon it. If you'd like to clear any data that you may have entered into the program, you can use the "Clear and Start Over".  To delete all your tax information from TurboTax follow these steps.

  • If you haven't already done so, sign in to your TurboTax account and select the Take me to my return button.

  • On the welcome back screen, in the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, and then Clear & Start Over (select the menu icon in the upper-left corner if you don't see this menu).

  • Answer Yes in the pop-up to confirm.
