Question

I know that the SE health ins ded is limited to the net SE income. However, my husband pays SE tax because he is clergy, and the program is deducting his SE tax too.

It seems the adjustments to SE income for the health ins deduction should be limited to my SE income.

You will need to enter your self-employed health insurance on your own self-employment income section to have it compute the deduction without your spouse's clergy being taking into account.

Go back into the Federal section of the program, and select Edit to the right of your self-employment activity.

Under expenses, select Health Insurance premiums.

SE insurance

If you enter your self-employed health insurance premiums in this section, it will calculate the amount allowed to be deducted based upon this Schedule C activity only.
