I live in South Carolina and recieve Survivor Benefits from military. It is supposed to be at least partially tax free. How do I handle this on my State Taxes?

You'll be asked to select your state during the follow-up questions in the 1099-R interview. After you select South Carolina and continue advancing through the screens, TurboTax will ask Where is this distribution from? Check Military retirement distribution. (Click the screenshots below for reference.) TurboTax will automatically transfer this information to your state tax return.
