Question

I live part of the year overseas, but travel often to the US for business. I am in sales. Does my 1099 income from such sales activity qualify as QBI?

All of my customers are in the US, but I prospect and communicate with them from abroad while overseas, and often travel to the States to meet them. QBI has some language requiring income only from US sources. In my case, my income is a result of sales made to US companies and individuals, but I reside overseas a good part of the year. Thus, not clear if I qualify. Is there a clear cut answer to this question?

Thanks!

If the income is US sourced then it should qualify.  You only need to adjust foreign source income and just because you are based in foreign country would not make it foreign source.  If you claim the income and pay tax on it then I would say it qualifies.
