Question

I'm first time filing, my brother put me as a dependent, when it asked if i received stimulus, should i put yes or no? Its trying to give me the Recovery Rebate Credit.

If you indicate that you are a dependent of someone else, the program should not ask you if you received the stimulus payments because if you were 17 or older in 2020, you would not be eligible for the stimulus payment or the credit.

Edit your information in the MY INFO section in your return and there is a question that asks if you can be claimed as a dependent by someone. You will check that box in your return.
