I'm in the middle of a divorce and can not get her SSN. What can I do?

Do you have access to a prior year tax return? It would be on any of those returns.

She will need your SSN also. Can you work a deal with her to trade numbers?

Can your lawyer get it for you?

Can you download a transcript of a prior year return from the IRS? https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

If there is no way to get it, you will have to print and mail your Married Filing Separately return to get it accepted.
