I’m trying to do my tax return, but the amount it is saying my return amount will be so far is only $149. That is way off. I need help please.

The refund will continue to change until you enter all your forms and information and complete the final review. TurboTax will recalculate your refund every time you add more information to your tax return.    

If your refund seems extremely off, double-check the amounts you entered.

Also, there are many other reasons why your refund could be less than what you expected, such as:

• Having a child turn 17 in 2023, now receiving the Credit for Other Dependents instead of the Child Tax Credit.
• You changed your Filing Status.
• You didn't qualify for the Earned Income credit. 
• Received unemployment benefits, but didn't have any taxes withheld. 
• Adjusting your withholding to maximize your take-home pay.
