I'm trying to uncheck my parent's filing status but it won't let me uncheck it to continue my return.

Did you setup a new account for your return? You can't use your parents account or you will overwrite their return.

Online is only good for 1 return per account. But you can use the same email address for 5 accounts. How to start another return in the Online version
