Question

I'm unable to complete my file, because it's wanting me to input a 1095-A, but I don't have one of those. How do I bypass it or complete my process?

To bypass the 1095-A questions:

  • Federal
  • Deductions and Credits
  • Medical (not medical expenses)
  • Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A)
  • Delete any entry there
  • Go though the rest of the 1095-A screens
  • Go back to Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A)
  • Select No for the question 'Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?"

1095-A is the only 1095 form that needs to be entered on your tax return.  It is sent when you have insurance through the marketplace.  Any other 1095 is not entered on taxes but needs to be saved with other tax records.
