Solved

I made $375.85 in 2016 from a brief stint selling life insurance. I did not receive a 1099. What are the rules on reporting this income?

If your total income for this job is less than $400, report it as Other Income:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Wages and Income, select Skip to see all income
  3. Less Common Income section
  4. Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C

If your total income is $400 or more, the amount is entered as self-employed income.
