Question

I mailed in my return not knowing the federal and state go to two different addresses. What will happen to them?

Also, I didn't know I needed to send in a copy of my husband and I's W2s. Will they not accept it if they don't have them?

Did you mail both returns to the IRS?  As long as you reported the W-2 income in your return, the IRS has copies of your W-2s they can reference.

 

You should probably mail your state return to the correct address though (with the W-2s).  You could attach a note saying that original return was mailed to .... so they don't consider it a duplicate return, in case they get the first one. 

 

Another option is to contact your State Dept. of Revenue and ask them what you should do.
