Question

I make less than 10,000 a year at my summer job, I understand I get all my federal and state taxes back, can I maximize my deductions and pay less federal and state taxes

Just wondering if there's a way around paying so much taxes in and having to wait to get it right back at the first of the year.

You can change what you enter on your W-4 with your employer so that less money is withheld from your paychecks.

You said "summer job".  Are you a college student?  If you are being claimed as someone else's dependent, then anything you earn over $6300 will be taxable.
