I married in Aug. 2016- I didn't change my last name with my employer until 2017-so my W-2 has maiden name- my SS card has my married name. which do I enter when I file?

When you file your tax return you should enter your new married name since that is what the Social Security card says. The IRS will verify the information that the Social Security Administration has on file for you. It will not matter that the W-2 has your maiden name, the IRS will identify you using your Social Security Number.
