If your 2018 return was rejected it was never filed.  Or did you print and mail it?  If you didn't file 2018 or filed late in the year enter 0 for the AGI to efile 2019 now.

You need your 2018 AGI to efile 2019. The AGI is on 2018 1040 line 7. If you filed a Joint return you use the same AGI for each spouse.

How to find the AGI.

I have already tried putting 0 and it still said my agi was wrong. I'm not sure if that means I have to use my 2017 agi or not but I also don't have that so it doesn't really help.

If your tax return continues to be rejected with the 2018 AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the AGI and e-file again.

If this is also rejected then you will have to print and mail the tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for printing a tax return for mailing - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/printing/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online...

If your 2018 return was rejected then the IRS does not have a 2018 AGI in the system for you.  User zero instead.  If using zero will not let you e-file 2019 then you need to print, sign and mail it instead.

As for the rejected 2018 return---did you just give up and not file it?  Why?  You could either fix the reason for the rejection in order to e-file by the October e-filing deadline, or you could have printed, signed and mailed it in.  You cannot e-file it now, but you can still print it and mail it.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

I never got around to fixing my taxes that got rejected from 2018. I'm not really sure why, I could've just been too busy to notice, or it was because I wasn't getting much back anyways. I think I'll just file by mail once I figure out how to do that. Thank you.

If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2018 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.

If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday-Friday.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
