I need to complete a 1040-SR. Can I do this in TurboTax online?

Yes. The 1040SR is the same as a regular 1040. Turbo Tax will automatically give you the 1040SR if you or your spouse is 65 or older. Just fill out your tax return as normal. The 1040X was for an Amended return to change a previous filed 1040 or 1040SR.

Are you asking about 2023 or a prior year?

FYI ... the 1040 and the 1040SR are EXACTLY THE SAME form ... the only difference is the FONT size ... the SR has larger font for the elderly who may not be able to see the original sized font (and they removed the background color on the form since that can be difficult for "old" eyes as well). If you put the forms side by side you would see that they are the same line for line. In my practice we don't use the SR form at all since it is 3 pages long instead of just 2 so we save paper and ink costs.
