Question

I need to file a 2018 tax return for my deceased parents. Do I complete it under my account or do I set up a different account?

The TurboTax online editions are only for filing one tax return, so you will need to set up a new account with a new User ID for any other tax returns that are not yours.  Go to the TurboTax online editions, click on the Start for Free button on one of the edition and start a new account - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

You can have up to 5 User ID's associated with one email address.

When starting a tax return for a deceased person, in the My Info section you enter their personal information and check the box that the person has passed away.

Stop.

I need to file a 2018

You can not use the online version to file a prior year tax return. You have to purchase the CD version and physically install it on your windows or MAC computer. Then use that to complete a prior year return. You can get TurboTax 2018 at https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

Right...Overlooked the 2018 tax return reference.

To complete and file a 2018 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer, Win or Mac, one of the 2018 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2018 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
