Question

I only have 1099-G unemployment income for my state. The first $10,200 is tax free for 2020 and I only made $19,371. That leaves $9,371. Do I still have to file taxes?

Since $9,371 is below the $12,200 minimum to file taxes. Thanks!

Yes you still have to file a tax return--you had enough income to require you to file even if some of it is not taxable.  And we do not know what state you are in---some states are still taxing unemployment.

If you qualify to use it, there is another full-featured free version of the software:

Try Free File:

You qualify if your income was $39,000 or less, or $72,000 or less if active duty military, or if you qualify for Earned Income Credit
