I owe money to my state. I was thinking since I entered my banking information they did it, is that not the case? Do I need to go ahead and pay it myself?

Did you select a date for your direct debit from your financial institute to your state for your state return balance due?

If so, it just may not have processed yet.  You should keep checking your account balance to verify hat it has been paid.

The date you chose for your state tax payment will be on your "Electronic Filing Instructions For Your (State Name)  Tax Return".

This filing instruction shows your date in the top section of the form as: "Date of Withdrawal".

You may also be able to make a payment to your state directly thru their governmental website.  What state are you trying to pay?

State of Kentucky, I will check what you suggested.  I asked that it be taken the date I did my taxes.  You are probably right, just taking them a while to take it out.
