I paid estimated federal and state income taxes in 2016, where I fill these numbers on the returns?

Here are the steps to enter Estimated Tax Payments you have made in your tax return:

  • Select the Federal Taxes tab (at top of program)
  • Select the Deductions & Credits (sub tab)
  • Scroll down the next page and select Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

For a shortcut, go to the Search box (upper right of program) and search "estimates paid", click the "Jump to" link.

Your state and local tax payments are automatically transferred to your state return. We’ll also use them to determine whether you’d benefit from itemized deductions, instead of a standard deduction.
