Question

I paid extra for TurboTax Deluxe, both returns were rejected, and I ended up owing $519 more. This service failed me completely. Is there any way to get a refund?

I had to file by mail, the deductions the “Deluxe” service came up with were all deemed invalid by the IRS. So this service did absolutely nothing for me yet I paid extra for it.

"Rejected" means the IRS and State did not accept your efile for processing.  But I think you mean some of your deductions were disallowed. Which exact ones were they?

Keep in mind that TT is mostly  a Do It Yourself computer program., and goes by what you key in, and your answers to the questions.  It has no way of knowing if what you claim is valid.  It also possible that the IRS changed something else (such as income), so that you no longer qualified to take those deductions.  Please provide details of what the IRS changed, and their reason for doing so.  They do not notify TT.
