If you rented your timeshare for 15 or fewer days per year, it is not taxable. You won't be able to write off any rental expenses, but you won't have to report the rental income that you get either.  For more information see Publication 527 - Residential Rental Property

Although your $4,241 is not taxable, you still have a Form 1099-MISC to deal with.  I suggest you report the Form 1099-MISC on Schedule C.  In order to net your income to zero, create an expense category in Other Miscellaneous Expenses for the same amount as your rental income.  To do so you will need to upgrade to TurboTax Self Employed.  To create a Miscellaneous Expense, while logged in and working in your account:

  • Click on Income & Expenses
  • Click on  Start (or Review) next to Self-employment income and expenses
  • The program will guide you through setting up a "business".
  • When you get to the expense section, scroll down to the bottom of the page and mark Other miscellaneous expenses and click on Continue
  • Enter a description and the amount and click on Continue
