I received a letter saying that I may be eligible to receive up to $1502 for EIC. TurboTax told me I don't qualify but it seems like I should. How can I find out why not?

Great question!

TurboTax will calculate if you qualify for the EITC based on the information you enter into your tax return.  These letters from the IRS alert you that you MAY qualify; however, it doesn't necessarily mean you will qualify for sure.  The IRS only has certain information regarding your situation, so they are asking you to double check to make sure you didn't miss this credit.  You stated you went back through the software and TurboTax still calculated that you don't qualify so that should be correct.  If you would like the use the IRS EITC Assistant, here is a link for you.  IRS EITC Assistant
