Question

I received my refund but it did not allow me to do the earned income tax credit. I have a dependent. How do I know if I qualify for the additional funds?

If you qualified for earned income credit when you entered your dependent and your income, the EIC would have been added automatically.

Look at your 2023 Form 1040 to see the child-related credits you received

If you were eligible for the EIC the program would have calculated the EIC and entered it on the Form 1040 on Line 27.

Is there an amount entered on the Form 1040 Line 27?
